Spitzer Music is one of the oldest and most respected retail music companies on the West coast. We have two retail outlets, two high-end pro audio “sister” stores (Leo’s Pro Audio) and a professional Sound Contracting Division (License No. C690009). From the day that Spitzer Music was founded in 1971, we have operated the business based on the premise that we are here to take care of customers for the long run. We believe that true value is the most important element in customer satisfaction, and we strive to provide that for each customer every day.

What does the term “true value” mean? Well, to us it means much more than a low price. A competitive price is a given these days.  Every ad you see now screams “LOW PRICES”,  “DEALS”, OR  “SALE”. In general, everyone is selling at close to the same low prices, whether its mail order, a big chain, or our stores. The good news is that customers do get great prices every day. However, we believe what sets us apart is our ability and desire to make sure you get the right gear, and get the help you need to get the most out of that gear. That’s true value – someone to help choose just the right instrument, not just sell you whatever their company is pushing that day; someone to set up your guitar, or service your amp. Great teachers to help you learn to use your gear. And, we have the experienced, seasoned staff to make sure it happens. If you check out our employee list, you will notice that most of them have been with us a number of years, and they all have lots of personal experience playing gigs, doing sessions, etc.

The rise in internet retailing has not gone unnoticed at Spitzer Music. We are as excited as anyone about the possibilities it offers for buyers as well as sellers. But we are also aware of its many shortcomings. Many times, its hard to pick out the right instrument until you have held it in your hands and compared it to others. Often, internet and mail order prices have a catch, such as unexpectedly high freight charges, no one to ask for help when you have a problem, no one to help you set up a new product, etc.  We believe that’s why stores like ours can offer you true value – competitive prices plus service.

At Spitzer Music, we have chosen to use our website as an informational tool to inform people about our specialized services, event, and sales. We don’t bother listing a ton of “lowest prices” on our site; customers who have done business with us know they can expect us to be as competitive on prices as anyone, or to match almost any legitimate sale price on like items. More importantly, you can pick up your phone and talk to a real, live, experienced sales person who will care about your musical equipment and purchases, and help you make the most of your next purchase.
